Orange color makes Juicer Bar

looks a good spot for people to

drop in and have a sip.

Interesting!! There is hot cake in the menu of this TEBANYAKI restaurant. One of my coworkers said it is unusual to see hot cakes in a TEBANYAKI restaurant. The photos you see are not taken very well; but the taste of the hot cakes was good especially when they were served hot.

Do we have hot cakes in Taiwan TEBANYAKI restaurants?

Kon shin tsai is a kind of vegetables which grow in China and Taiwan. The centers of the stems of KON SHIN TSAI are empty, so Chinese people call the vegetable as EMPTY CENTER VEGETABLE (KON SHIN means empty center; TSAI means vegetable).

If you put the stems in the jar and pour some water in, roots and leaves will come out gradually from the stems. Now I am growing 15 stems of KON SHIN TSAI (in Japan, people call it as KUU SHIN SAI) in two jars; some roots and small leaves come out well these days. If you want to try to grow KON SHIN TSAI, remember to change the water every day.

Please take a look at the two photos of the KON SHIN TSAI which I grow. One is the photo of its roots and the other is that of its leaves.

This is Taiwanese-styled egg roll for breakfast. Let me share the recipe with you.

Ingredient: (For one person) some flour, some water, some oil, an egg.

Directions: 1. Put some flour and some water into a big bowl. Stir the flour and water into batter and make the batter as soft as yoghurt. 2. Stir the egg into liquid. 3. Heat a flat pan, put some oil into the hot pan, then pour the batter into the pan, wait for a moment. 4. When the batter becomes a solid one, then turn it upside down and wait for a moment. 5. When the batter becomes a little bit crispy, then pour the egg liquid on the crispy. 6. When the egg become a little bit solid, then turn the crispy upside down again, and wait until the egg liquid become solid. 7. Now roll the crisy into a roll and cut it into several pieces. Serve any sauce you prefer (soy bean sauce or ketchup will be good choice) on the egg rolls, and enjoy the Taiwanese-styled egg rolls for breakfast.

Taiwanese people usually eat egg rolls and drink bean milk as their breakfast. Actually, they do not make egg rolls by themselves; there are breakfast restaurants everywhere in Taiwan; people can buy egg rolls in those breakfast restaurants easily. I cannot find one in Japan; so I have to make egg rolls by myself.

Prune

e0086420_16355456.jpg
This is not a grape; it is a fresh prune. Taste good; 8 pieces for 198 yen. I bought the prunes in the market street near my home. Isn't that big and look like a grape?

(Thanks for Anita's cooking photo)
Anita asked me how to make cucumbers fried with eggs. Hmm, here is the recipe, are you all ears?

Ingredients: slice 2 pieces of cucumbers, slice 1 bag of gumbo (okura around 8 pieces), and 2 eggs.

Directions: make some scrambled eggs with the 2 eggs; pick up the scrambled eggs into a bowl; then saute the sliced cucumbers and gumbo with some salt and black pepper (if you want to, put some KONBU DASHI, a kind of Japanese flavoring). Last, mix the scrambled eggs with the sauteed sliced cucumbers and gumbo.

Anita, are you ready to give it a try? I should attach a photo of the dish later for you.

店家提供一只小塑膠袋﹐ALL YOU CAN PUT INSIDE﹐讓您裝滿為止。 YUM﹐YUM。
Can you imagine that you can buy 20 pieces of cucumbers with only 100 yen in Japan? No doubt about it, yes, I have bought these cucmbers in the market street near my home. Look at these green and shining cucumbers; one of the dishes tonight, cucumbers fried with eggs.
